Dublin born singer/songwriter Róisín O has recently been supporting names such as The Coronas, Imelda May, Shay Cotter, Mary Black and Robert Cray. Now 22 years of age and studying music in UCD, she has been writing songs since she was sixteen and more recently started gigging in some of Dublin's hot spots: Whelans, The Village, Vicar Street and The Olympia. In 2007 she recorded her first 5 track EP entitled Oxegen, with her cousin Eoghan Scott, while still in secondary school. In 2009 she added three other musicians to her live shows, Alan Tully (guitars and Vocals), Darren O'Reilly (drums and vocals) and Niall "Georgie" MacFadden on bass. She was recently a hit guest on Balcony TV and Bandwagon TV and sang to a full tent at Mitchellstown's Indiependence festival this summer, followed by a small Irish tour with her band, hitting venues like The Spirit Store, The Stables and Crawdaddy. She has just recorded a new EP entitled 'The Thrill' from which the song 'Drifting' was chosen for the latest 'Woman's Heart Now' compilation, alongside Lisa Hannigan, Wallis Bird, Imelda May and many more (available in all good record stores).
